Montaldo Roero is a characteristic hilltop village in the heart of Roero where you can enjoy the authentic vitality and hospitality of the locals.

The historical and architectural wonders of Montaldo Roero are in close harmony with the nature of the hills. A mong the houses, the ancient tower stands out, an imposing masonry structure that tells the story of the village as a remnant of the medieval castle.

Montaldo Roero is a simple and essential place that offers an incomparable beauty in its views and panoramas.

From the overhanging openings on the Rocche and from the Ponte dei Sapori you can enjoy some of the best panoramic views across the unencumbered nature of the area.

The "Rocche" of Roero

The Rocche are a natural wonder, the most characteristic of the Roero area: imposing canyons, spires and pinnacles stand out among the woods and luxuriant vineyards of Arneis and Nebbiolo.

Over the millennia, the erosion of the sandy sediments of an ancient sea has created these unique and spectacular formations that extend over a ridge of 40 km. Small villages, including Montaldo Roero, are located on the top of the Rocche.

A vast biodiversity characterizes the Rocche of Roero. The flora is very luxuriant and varies between the top of the hills to the cool and shady environments at the bottom of the cliffs, generating an ideal microclimate for numerous animal and plant species.

A gastronomic treasure is found in the sandy soil of the green forests of the Rocche: the “white truffle of the Rocche”, one of the best around and loved by great chefs.
